Epic games has used their powerful, real-time 3D creation platform outside of gaming, they now develop software for the car industry too.

Epic Games Inc is an American based company that specialises in video games and software development, with their most popular games including Fortnite, Unreal Tournament, Infinity Blade, Shadow Complex and Robo Recall.

The Epic Games software development department is called Unreal Engine, and they have a reputation of developing the most advanced real-time 3D creation software for both animators and game designers.

Unreal Engine's description says: "Unreal Engine is the world’s most open and advanced real-time 3D creation tool. Continuously evolving to serve not only its original purpose as a state-of-the-art game engine, today it gives creators across industries the freedom and control to deliver cutting-edge content, interactive experiences, and immersive virtual worlds."

Epic Games has teamed up with auto manufacturers to help improve the software, graphics, animation and user experience in the infotainment systems of modern cars. In our opinion, it's about time the auto industry stepped up their game in this department as many of the touchscreen-operated systems are quite poor in graphics and speed.
