GOOGLE MAPS LAUNCHING NEW AR INDOOR NAVIGATION

Google Maps has announced some new exciting features, including AR indoor navigation.

The company announced a new feature for Google Maps, and it will be a complete game-changer for mobile navigation.

Google Maps will soon be able to assist users with navigation indoors in places such as airports, shopping malls and even business parks.

Unlike standard road navigation, the Google Maps indoor feature will also be compatible with AR, so users can have navigation overlays over real-time video footage to assist in where they want to go.

It sounds great, but Google Map's new features announcement raised a few concerns for massive consumer corporations. Users will now be able to walk in and find exactly what they are looking for without having to search for it. Whereas, it's in the shop's best interest to have customers browse around, that way they make more sales.

The way we see it, this is a huge opportunity for Google to sell relevant ads based on which shop a user is currently in, as well as which aisle a user is currently walking through. Although there has been no mention of any of this yet, we're pretty sure this will be the way of the future in terms of indoor navigation and shopping.
