SMARTPHONE SCREEN ROTATION FRUSTRATION FINALLY SOLVED BY GOOGLE
Google has developed an ingenious new way to put an end to the screen rotation frustration.
The most annoying things about modern-day smartphones is, without a doubt, the auto screen rotation feature. This is when sensors in your phone are able to detect which way your phone is being held, and will automatically adjust whether the phone's screen needs to be in portrait orientation or landscape orientation.
But, this is by no means ideal all the time. What if you're lying down and using your phone sideways? The phone's screen will automatically flip to landscape orientation when the user still wants to be in portrait. The only way around this is to turn off auto screen rotation, which is incredibly frustrating!
But, Google has now solved this issue with the new Pixel. What they have done is gotten rid of those motion and orientation sensors in the smartphone and simply replaced that with face detection. So, if you turn your phone sideways, it will detect which way your face is in relation to the phone and adjust the screen's orientation accordingly. Which puts an end to all the frustration.
This is such a simple solution, we are stunned as to why no one figured this out before.
