THIS SECURITY ROBOT DROWNED ITSELF, WELL THAT IS AWKWARD!

A Knightscope security robot at the Washington Harbour shopping mall is assigned to do tedious mall-cop tasks. The bot appears to have decided that enough was enough doing this boring job and drove itself into an outdoor water feature.

The photo – seen in the gallery above – can be seen floating face down in the fountain. The Knightscope security robot is a part of the California-based robotics company that manufactured the despondent robot that provides a friendly physical security presence. The robots are designed to supplement the effort of human security guards and can record and live stream video.

The Kightscope company has been in the news before; back in the summer of 2016 when a 300-pound Knightscope K5 allegedly knocked a toddler to the ground before running over him in a California shopping mall. No matter what the cause of the specific robot's demise, mankind can sit back and relax for now knowing that, for now, we still have a future where robots won't take over our jobs too quickly!
