THE HISTORY OF SSX SNOWBOARDING - AND WHY IT FAILED

SSX was the definition of snowboarding games throughout the 2000s and still has a presence of being one of the best games on the Playstation 2. EA games were at a strange point in the late 90s to early 2000s as they were working on experimental games where they even created a division specifically for them which later became known as ES Sports: BIG.

SSX was designed for a console that didn't even exist as yet, but as soon as Sony announced the Playstation 2, EA knew that they had an opportunity for their new and exciting snowboarding themed arcade game which they titled SSX.

SSX was undoubtedly a huge success with many more sequels to follow, but then all of a sudden their target market was not interested anymore in their major franchise and according to many sources, it was largely due to the fact that their first 3 games were so perfect that it was near impossible to beat it.
