USB TYPE-C – EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
Here is everything you need to know about USB Type-C and why it's here to stay.
The first generation of USB revolutionised the possibilities of what computers and devices could be connected to each other universally. It also changed the rate of charging and had a relatively fast data transfer rate.
Since then, we have been introduced to the USB 2.0 generation, and the faster and more powerful USB 3.0.
But now, USB Type-C is pretty much all over the place. So what makes it so special and better?
Well, first of all, there is always a frustration when it comes to changing the design of a port. This means that even though USB Type-C is backwards compatible, the USB cable itself needs to be changed to the new port. But doing so will offer great benefits.
USB Type-C is far smaller and slim, so it will fit perfectly in more sleek designed devices. It is also reversible, meaning that you can slot it in upside down or the right way up and have no issues. Lastly, and most importantly, USB Type-C has a data transfer rate of up to 10 Gb per second and can carry up to 100 Watts of power.
