VIDEO: BIOMUTANT IS ONE OF THE MOST EXCITING DEMOS AT GAMESCOM 2017!

Biomutant is an open-world action from some of the minds behind Just Cause 3 and Mad Max. Described as a "kung-fu fable" by developer Experiment 101, the upcoming adventure puts you in control of an adorable badass creature in a lush, wild setting. Biomutant allows you to customise your character with different robotic attachments, mutations and weapons; ranging from samurai swords to full-blown assault rifles.

Biomutant's world is dying and it's up to you whether you want to heal The Tree of Life or let it expire—and your in-game decisions, governed by a Yin and Yang-style karma meter, will determine your final outcome. Decisions made throughout the game will lock off certain dialogue paths. While players can occasionally revisit important decisions, being mindful of your approach makes sense if you're pursuing a specific outcome.

Biocreeps are the gateway to mutations—special abilities that can be mixed and matched to better deal with the bad guys! Biomutant looks incredibly polished. If it can live up to its promise, it will be one of the best games of 2018.

There’s a nice comic book-style accent to the fights in the game, too, with words like BLAM, BOOM, and SMACK accompanying the different attacks. It adds to the absurd nature of the game, for sure. Outside of the action, the video shows a glimpse of the crafting and there’s certainly more to Biomutant than meets the eye.

The game is due for release in 2018 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. In the meantime watch the Biomutant gameplay which will give you a better idea about the game.
