VIDEO: HACKERS CAN NOW USE VIDEO SUBTITLES TO HIJACK YOUR DEVICES!!

Before you fire up any media player software to play any foreign movies, be sure that you know what you are doing because it might be a way for intruders to compromise your system. 

In the video, you will see how it is demonstrated how users are exploited to maliciously crafted subtitles that can take full control of your device, whether it is a PC, phone or smart TV. Only certain programs are used to demonstrate the flaw; Kodi, PopcornTime, Stermio and VLC!

The technique is not particularly complicated, and as many media player apps download subtitles from repositories they explicit trust. All it takes is an attacker to sneak in a malicious file into the subtitles that you are most likely to download. 

You may want to be careful about using these media players until you know that the programmers have addressed this exploit!
