VIDEO: HERE IS WHY OLED IPHONES WILL BE SO EXPENSIVE...

There have been numerous rumours that an OLED iPhone will cost well over $1,000. While this might seem excessive, it is basic supply and demand. OLED displays have been in high demand and short supply which means if Apple can get the OLED screens it will initially be quite costly. The actual cost of a 5.7-inch OLED panel today is somewhere between $230 and $280, depending on the quantity and availability.

At CES 2017, much of the industry got a good look at the incredible quality and resolution that OLED technology provides. Many TV vendors showed off early models of large-screen OLED TVs, some priced over $10,000. One key thing about OLED displays is that the blacks are blacker and the whites are whiter and every pixel is illuminated so colour depth and concentration are amazing. Although we do not know what Apple has decided, this explains why some of the iPhone 8's might launch later or in batches (if we believe the online rumours). Have a look at the video below to see what OLED screens mean for the future of technology.
