VIDEO: HOW TO BUILD A MINI APPLE II REPLICA!

Chris Larkin, who is a game developer, found the perfect project for a $9 CHIP computer, turning it into a mini Apple II replica that emulates the classic computer!

In the video, Jeremy Williams of Tested met up with Chris Larkin to talk about his open-source design and work with him to build one of these computers for the office. The Apple II mini is completely self-contained and has a battery that lasts for up to 10 hours give or take.

The C.H.I.P. can use 3.3V to 5V power, however, the LCD TFT screen requires 6V to 12V. Larkin solved this by using a 12V drone/RC battery and passed it through a cheap 5V buck converter to power the C.H.I.P. He also created a very simple PCB to accomplish this, but there is no need for the PCB to complete this build. The only reason why Larkin created this one is to keep things a bit tidy.

Have a look at the video to see how Jeremy Williams and Chris Larkin create the miniature Apple II that emulate the classic 8-bit home computer.
