Apple has announced two new Macs during its special live event in New York City.


A new MacBook Air

The display on the new MacBook Air has a 13.3-inch Retina Display with over four million pixels and a FaceTime camera at the top of the display. Inside the Air, users can find an 8th-Gen Intel Core i5 CPU, 16GB of 2,133MHz RAM, and 1.5TB SSD storage. The device has two Thunderbolt 3 ports with USB-C interfaces.

Apple promises users that the battery can last up to 12 hours of wireless web browsing and 13 hours of video playback. The size of the MacBook Air has also been improved, and the latest model has 17% less volume than its predecessor.

It is 15.6mm thick, 10% thinner than the previous Air and weighs 1.25kg and the new MacBook Air's external enclosure is 100% recycled aluminium.


The Mac Mini

After not being touched for years, Apple has finally decided to upgrade the Mac Mini with Intel 8th-generation processors, with either quad-core or hexa-core configurations.

Apple’s new Mac Mini has 8GB RAM which can be upgraded to up to 64GB of memory.

The device will feature solid state storage, with capacities ranging from 128GB to 2TB.

The Mac Mini also includes Apple’s new T2 security chip, which offers HEVC video transcoding.

Apple said the basic version of the Mac Mini will feature 8GB RAM, a 128GB SSD, and an Intel 8th-gen quad-core processor.

Local pricing for both devices is yet to be announced.
