HUAWEI LAUNCHES A NEW LIQUID LENS SMARTPHONE CAMERA

Huawei revolutionizes smartphone camera lens technology with their brand new liquid lens camera.

Smartphone manufacturers acknowledge that consumers see tremendous value in having a good camera in their phones, and are continuously trying to improve on their camera technology and image quality. Apple recently announced their new camera features with the iPhone 12 and its ability to make use of LiDAR to improve autofocus in lower light, and Xiaomi with their impressive 108-megapixel camera.

Now, Huawei too has spent time developing what they believe is the next big thing in smartphone camera technology with their liquid lens camera. Huawei states that the autofocus delay time is now equivalent to that of the human eye. The camera module will change the shape of the liquid by varying the voltage and, in turn, significantly reducing focus delay time.

Huawei states that this new liquid lens will work together with the Sony IMX782 smartphone camera sensor on their telephoto lens setups and, together with the liquid lens technology, will also improve on other aspects such as image stabilization.
