PRINCE OF PERSIA REMASTERED FOR 2021
The iconic game series, Prince of Persia, will be remastered for 2021.
Ubisoft released the first Prince Of Persia game in 1989, which was a pretty crude 2D game that involved you controlling your main character (the prince) through a series of mazes and puzzles in order to progress in the game.
Since then, three more successors to the original game concept were made in 1993, 1994 and then in 1999.
It wasn't until 2003 that Ubisoft redesigned the game entirely and introduced an intricate storyline with the Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time, which was instantly a commercial success internationally and would later be made into a Hollywood movie.
Due to the success of the first game in the new series of Prince of Persia, Ubisoft immediately got to work with the sequel, Prince of Persia: Warrior Within, which featured a continuation of the storyline with improved graphics that featured a much darker and violent tone.
After Warrior Within, a year later Ubisoft released the third and final part of the Prince of Persia trilogy called The Two Thrones.
Fans assumed that, due to the incredible success and popularity of the Prince of Persia trilogy, Ubisoft would introduce another game, but Ubisoft was focussed on a new game franchise that was built on the backbone of Prince of Persia, they called it Assassin's Creed.
Then, in 2008, Ubisoft launched another game called Prince of Persia, but it was a complete disaster for the game developers as it featured poor graphics, unfamiliar gameplay, no storyline and an open world aspect that was not involving or relevant to the game.
However, some 12 years later, Ubisoft, out of the blue, uploaded a teaser video of the Sands Of Time. It has been digitally remastered to support gameplay at 4K 120 FPS and will be available in 2021 on the latest consoles such as the Sony Playstation 5, Xbox Series X and S as well as for PC.
We can only assume and hope that they will release the Warrior Within and Two Thrones sequels as well.
