THE NEW KODAK PRINTOMATIC IS BASICALLY A POLAROID SNAP!
Kodak has announced the new Kodak Printomatic, which is a pocketable digital camera that combines a 10-megapixel sensor with the ability to instantly print 2x3-inch sticker photos on non-ink Zink paper.
This is definitely something new: the Polaroid Snap – which was released in 2015 – also shoots 10-megapixels images and prints them on 2x3 Zink paper. The cameras also look cosmetically similar, if not identical. So, what’s going on here...
The Printomatic is actually being produced by a company called C+A Global, which is just licensing the Kodak name and branding. C+A also licenses Polaroid and was behind the two-year-old Snap, so it is basically the same camera as the Snap though simplified and rebadged. The Printomatic can also store the images on a microSD card, The built-in lithium ion battery means you can shoot for longer, and there’s a low battery indicator that will tell you when it’s running low. Its built-in flash will turn on automatically when the light is low thanks to a special sensor. There’s also a printer status indicator, and two separate printing modes: vibrant colour, and black & white.
The camera is small and compact, meaning that it will fit into your pocket easily. Have a look at the image gallery to see the Kodak Printomatic.
