This mind-blowing 10 Gigapixel photo of the Girl With The Pearl Earring painting is so incredible, it might just have you question reality!
The Girl With The Pearl Earring is one of the most famous paintings in the world. It was painted by Dutch artist, Johannes Vermeer, dates back as early as 1665, and is now hands in the Mauritshuis museum in The Hague.
This famous painting was recently photographed by a 3D microscope, and composited by a mosaic of 9,100 high-resolution images, which all come together to produce a mind-blowing 10 Gigapixel photograph.
When you view the image in its entirety, it is obviously very clear, but the amazing part comes when you start to zoom in. On the closest inspection of the portraits eye, the little dab of white paint to create the catch-light almost looks like an areal shot of a landscape of an alien planet!
