A TRANSFORMABLE, MOVING BRIDGE ON THE MONGOLIAN RIVER!

Margot Krasojević, architect and designer, is known for moulding architectural form, geometry, sustainability and smart materials into some amazing things. And she hasn't let us down with the release of her latest project. The Revolving Rail Bridge is commissioned by the Ordos government to cross the wu-Anm LUN river — located in Ordos city, Kang Bashi district Mongolia — this bridge proposal is a flexible structure that can relocate by sailing along the river to its new position.

The Revolving Rail Bridge was commissioned by the Ordos government to cross the wu-Anm LUN river — located in Ordos city, in the Kang Bashi district of Mongolia — this bridge proposal is a flexible structure that can relocate by sailing along the river to its new position.

The Revolving Rail Bridge consist of a main floating section that supports three expanding walkways and a carbon fibre triple sail. Due to its transformable nature, the folding bridge can manipulate its various sections into stacks so as to travel along the river more naturally and efficiently.

The Revolving Rail Bridge features flexible walkways that adapt to different quays and can span across the river, expanding and folding accordingly. The hydraulic walkway is supported by the river bank’s landing docks while the main body of the bridge is kept afloat by the sail and its rotator. Very clever indeed!

Take a look through the gallery to check out this new design, the bridge looks like a Dragonfly Transformer. Who knows, maybe we'll see it in the next flick of the franchise kicking butt!
