AN ARTIST 3D PRINTS HIS OWN MOTORBIKE!

This Artist takes DIY to the next level.

3D Printing first arrived in the 1980's and it's processed continues to rapidly gain momentum year after year. Today the process of 3D printing is part of several industries such as photography and dentistry and now artist Jonathan Brand has used it to build a full scale 1972 Honda CB500 motorcycle.

Jonathan Brand is a New York and Connecticut-based artist who always wanted his own motorcycle, but could never manage to get one. Using open source 3D printing from Ultimaker, he managed to finally own his dream bike. When he printed the bike he used more than 18kg of PLA plastic with certain individual pieces taking as long as 24 hours to complete. It is truly a form of art, check out the video to see the whole story!
