EKTO VR GAMING BOOTS MIGHT SOLVE THE VR WALKING PROBLEM
A new gaming manufacturing company called EKTO VR might have just come up with the best solution for the walking problem in VR.
VR is absolutely incredible, to say the least. However, it is not perfect, not by a long shot. One of the major problems with VR is the fact that in order to walk forward in a game you usually have to do so by means of pushing a button on a controller which in return tends to break the reality of it.
There have been some one-off projects that measure the movement of your feet and legs in order to move around in VR 3D space, however, that has been proven to be potentially hazardous in the environment in which you're gaming.
But this new company called EKTO VR has created boots that allow the gamer to walk as per normal in VR and not physically move anywhere but in the game itself.
“It’s about the continuity of the experience, It’s about maintaining that immersion. It’s about ease of use and the learning curve: not needing to teach somebody how to use VR, but just being able to put on the headset and experience the virtual world naturally. That’s a lot of what we’re focusing on.” - EKTO VR CEO.
