FEATURES YOU PAY FOR BUT CAN'T USE!

Gone are the days that you simply buy a product for precisely what it was intended for such as a walkman to play music and a calculator for arithmetic. But nowadays there are literally products that you buy which contain features you can not even use!

For example, computer CPUs. Manufactures of CPU's don't even make a large variety as in what we find on the shelves, a standard Core i7 contains a rated number of cores with a certain processing speed, but each one is tested at length before it gets shipped off, but some of them are actually faulty where a core or two might not be working optimally, so instead of discarding them, they are programmed to not use those defective cores and the company just rebrands them as something like a Core i5. Furthermore, you might not even be able to access the rated top processing speed without overclocking the CPU that you paid for.

Another example of buying features you can't use is in the automotive industry. Mercedes Benz is now offering their cars with heated seats as standard which you do pay for, but if you want to actually use them you have to subscribe to a monthly subscription service on top of that in order to access those features!
