When was the last time you treated yourself to a KFC meal, a Coke or Pepsi, or even cured a squeak with some WD-40? All these brands have one thing in common to ensure their success.

They have a great selling product that no one has been able to perfectly recreate. Because of this, their recipes and formulas are kept secret.

They are so secret, in fact, that not even some top employee's know it in its entirety.

Take KFC, for example. A $10 Billion company made famous for its unique and delicious fried chicken. Their original recipe for their fried chicken was created by Colonel Sanders in the 1940s, and if that original recipe was ever leaked, it would have rendered KFC out of business. Even today, in 2021, only two top executives of KFC have access to the original recipe, which is kept safe in a 24/7 guarded facility. It has 2-ft thick concrete walls, armed guards and biometric access for those two execs only.

Furthermore, the KFC spices are not allowed to be mixed together at one place at any given time. The ingredients are divided and mixed at two different locations, mixed together at a third, then shipped off to all the individual fast-food franchises around the world. All this, just to ensure that the recipe is kept as safe as possible.
