INSIDE BIG BEN'S RENOVATION PROJECT
The nearly two-century-old clock tower in the heart of London is a part of the iconic landscape and touristic sights in the United Kingdom and marks a sign of significant importance in British culture and heritage.
However, it is still a mechanical working clock that needs constant maintenance. However, the biggest refurbishment the clock tower has ever received since its construction was set underway in 2017 which, according to its original plan, was to only take around 2 years to complete, but thanks to the Covid-19 pandemic and lack of workers during multiple lockdown periods, the Big Ben refurbishment project got severely delayed as a result.
However, it is clear that the refurbishment is reaching the endpoint and the newly worked-on clock tower will showcase all its history and glory over the city of London once more.
The entire restoration project has already taken over 4 years to get to this point and has cost an incredible £80 Million, or $111 Milion
