LATEST RED DEAD REDEMPTION TRAILER FOCUS ON GAME'S VILLAIN

It always feels like a lifetime since the last trailer was launched when you see a new trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2.

Considering how the previous video dropped seven months ago, that feeling is understandable. Thankfully, the good folks over at Rockstar Games have made the agonising wait for their upcoming Western a little easier with a brand-new trailer.

As with the previous video, this one focuses on the story of Red Dead Redemption 2. As you would imagine, it’s pretty intense stuff.

Viewers learn that the game takes place in 1899, which is an interesting era to set a Western, considering how most of America had been settled and tamed by this time.

Dutch van der Linde, who was the main antagonist of the previous game, is the focus of the new trailer. We see him and his gang getting up to all sorts of trouble with the law. Despite their nefarious actions, the members of the gang see themselves as part of a brotherhood. This is a problem for the game’s protagonist, Arthur Morgan, who is having second thoughts about being in the criminal organisation.

This is indeed a solid trailer, but it doesn’t feature much in the way of actual gameplay. There are still some months to go until its October release date, so hopefully we’ll get some meaty gameplay footage before then. After all, Rockstar did promise more details this summer.

We’ll surely learn everything players can look forward to. We are especially keen to see what the game is going to do in terms of its online presence. Online has been a huge breadwinner for Grand Theft Auto V, so it’ll be interesting to see if this title features a similarly robust online experience.

Red Dead Redemption 2 releases on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 26, 2018.
