ROBIN ADDED A LINE ABOUT BATMAN TO THE TITANS TRAILER...

The line for Batman was originally shot without the infamous line.

However, "The F**K Batman" line that Robin let loose at the end of the first trailer for Titans was not originally planned, as it was added during reshoots in order to set a particular tone for the series.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Dick Grayson/Robin actor Brenton Thwaites elaborated that this particular scene needed a punch line, and he felt that it was an appropriate line for both his characters and the show in general.

"We'd already shot that alley fight scene before, and there was no punch to it," said Thwaites. "There was no real exclamation mark. I think the producers wanted something that would kind of set the tone for the whole show."

Thwaites further explained that it is important for fans to know that Titans is intentionally separated from Batman, saying "I feel like 'F**k Batman' says that in two words. The whole point of is to tell the story of Robin breaking away from Batman and a life of fighting crime that he didn’t exactly agree with, and beginning the search for his own identity and his own moral centre."

Ultimately, both Thwaites and producer Geoff Johns feel that Titans' incarnation of Dick Grayson is more violent than fans are accustomed to and that his teaming up with the rest of the Titans might ultimately help him work through his issues with his past – particularly his past with Batman.

Johns has previously stated that the 'F**k Batman' line "... is after he's obviously split from Batman if that wasn’t clear enough. There's a story to be told in the series. Dick Grayson is really trying to find a new place in the world – a new spot, a new life, just like all the other Titans are. They're all lost, and they find one another to form this surrogate family."

The Titans series is coming exclusively to the DC Universe streaming service starting October 12, with new episodes coming every Friday.
