SMART VEHICLES ARE STILL GETTING HACKED!
Car manufacturers will have to better protect internet-connected vehicles from cyber attacks under new Government guidance.
It is feared that hackers could target them to access personal data, steal cars that use keyless entry or even take control of vehicles and cause accidents. Car thefts have jumped 20 percent since last year, which is likely got to do with more criminals 'hacking' the cars' computers or 'boosting' signals from keyless entry devices. Even thou some of the hacking risks was low, protecting motorists from cyber attacks was "important".
The cars are becoming smarter and self-driving technology will revolutionise the way we travel, according to the transport minister Lord Callanan. These risks might be low, but protecting the public is important to make sure the roads and society are safe which will dramatically reduce accidents and save thousands of lives down the road.
