THE FUTURE OF TV TECHNOLOGY
Take a look at what's in store for the future of TV technology.
When you pay a visit to your local tech store and walk past the latest TVs on the market, sometimes you wonder to yourself how can they possibly better the technology and specs to what is already out there? Well, Samsung has some pretty interesting news on their approach to exactly that.
Samsung announced that they will discontinue all future production of LCD displays by the end of 2020, and will be further investing a colossal $11 Billion into QD-OLED panel production and development, with the integration of Quantum Dot technologies.
The reasons for this is that Quantum Dots simply make TV viewing experiences better in three ways:
- Far more accurate colour interpretation and presentation
- Higher brightness capabilities which aid in higher dynamic ranges (HDR)
- And far wider and accurate viewing angles
Furthermore, Samsung is paying a lot more attention to resolution as well. With 8K on the rise to dominate the market, there is a lot more investment, research and development in the pipeline for resolutions that will surpass 8K.
