THE UNBELIEVABLE TECH THAT MAKES THE B-2 BOMBER SO DEADLY
The Northrup Grumman B-2 Spirit, simply referred to as just the B-2, is one of the world's most advanced military aircraft.
Its primary function is to be a stealth bomber that is capable of carrying an incredibly heavy payload while going virtually undetected by enemy radar.
The B-2 bomber is by no means the fastest jet out there, with a top speed of Mach 0.95. But, it is one of the longest flying aircraft with a range of over 6,000 miles, and it has the ability to be refuelled mid-flight.
The frame is made from a carbon composite, which further helps it go undetected, and it ensures utmost durability in comparison to metal frame alternatives. Its 51-metre wingspan stretches out far more than its length of 21 metres. This shape serves the purpose of reducing drag as much as possible, making it far more efficient on fuel.
With regards to its incredible payload, the B-2 can carry 80 500-class bombs, 36 750-class bombs, 16 2000-class bombs and 16 nuclear-class bombs all in one flight!
