TRYING OUT A WINDOWS KNOCK-OFF VERSION
Take a look at this Windows Knock-off operating system.
When you buy a PC nowadays, you have two main operating systems to chose from, one being Mac OS and the second being Microsoft. Yes, there are a couple of others as well, such as Linux, but as far as mainstream options go, those are usually your two choices for computers.
But there seems to be one that is a blatant knock-off of Windows, and its been around since 1998! This makes us wonder why Microsoft hasn't tried to shut it down if it is been in operation for 22 years already! But, nevertheless, how does it look, work and function?
FreeWin95 was the name of the first version until it got renamed to ReactOS. It is a clone, reversed-engineered copy of Windows that is fully open source and will run on any 64-bit system, and even supports drivers for Windows.
The description, according to Wikipedia, of this OS reads: "ReactOS is a free and open-source operating system for amd64/i686 personal computers intended to be binary-compatible with computer programs and device drivers made for Windows Server 2003 and later versions of Windows."
