VIDEO: 'CHAIRLESS CHAIR' MIGHT BE THE FUTURE FOR FACTORY WORKERS!

The future is now, with this flexible Chairless Chair that looks like something from a sci-fi movie. The Noonee 'Chairless Chair' makes life easier for factory workers, allowing them to take a seat anywhere, anytime.

The Swiss company, Sapetti, has made a low-tech addition to the growing trend for assistive exoskeleton devices. Noonee's Chairless Chair is a minimal plastic frame and helps with one simple task: sitting.

The main purpose of the Chairless Chair is to reduce the number of instances where employees feel the physical strain, for standing long periods at a time, so the Chairless Chair could potentially reduce absenteeism and early retirement.

Users can walk around freely with this wearable exoskeleton, but the users have instant support once they get into a squatting position, crouching or seated position, adding instant stability to the factory environment.

The Chairless Chair comprises light-weight, durable engineering plastic such as polyamide. Sapetti developed its product over two years in collaboration with engineers at Zühlke, and the design team worked closely with employees of automotive companies such as Audi, BMW, Seat and Renault – to name a few –to further understand the needs of workers in different factory environments.
