VIDEO: FROM THE CREATOR OF ANDROID COMES THE ESSENTIAL PHONE!
During an interview with Walt Mossberg at the Code Conference, Android creator and now Essential Products CEO, Andy Rubin showed off his latest creation, the Essential Phone.
The company's Home assistant will be able to support AI helpers from other companies like Google, Amazon or Apple.
The Essential Phone promises something a bit unique; the phone is designed to be "modular", meaning that the owners of the phone can add new bits of hardware to change its function. The phone is almost all screen and is made with a combination of titanium and ceramic, which should make it super durable.
One of the coolest features is an attachable 360-degree camera that will shoot panoramic photos. Essential is aiming to build an ecosystem of accessories. This means that the phone will have a magnetic connector and wireless data transfer, Essential will also set to release a cordless charging dock.
The Essential Phone is currently targeted at the US market, but you can put in your order to reserve one online. Watch the interview below to find more about the Essential company and what Andy Rubin is planning.
