VIDEO: ONLINE SHOPPING IS TAKING OVER RETAIL
Thousand of retail employees are losing their jobs as they compete with the growing trend of online shopping with major companies such as Amazon. The online shopping revolution is changing the retail game completely, making shopping more efficient. People don't even have to get out of bed anymore to do their monthly grocery shop which means that many stores are slowly being forced to shut down.
Retail companies that rely on online sales increase their presence through pop-up stores and online advertisements. Customers know as much much as the sales people that work in the stores due to the availability of all the products and their information online, making the role of a salesperson redundant. It allows the customers to do research on the products they are buying to get the best deals for their money.
A retailer's online reputation is now more important than ever as people rely on reviews to guide them on where to shop, making convenience and customer experience ever more important. Online convenience is changing and raising the expectations of consumers making retail increasingly complicated.
