WHY DO IPHONES STAY ON 1% FOR SO LONG?

Have you ever been in a position whereby your iPhone battery is nearing exhaustion after a full day of use, and then finally it falls to 1% battery life, but not all hope is lost as you notice that your iPhone stays on 1% for a suspiciously long amount of time?

Well, as it turns out, this is not unique to iPhones, but rather any electronic device that uses Lithium-Ion batteries as the capacity of charge is incredibly hard to read by software.

As a new phone, the software has a very good understanding of how much battery life you have left, but as time goes on, the batteries in our mobile devices deteriorate and can cause issues such as shorter battery life, slower launching of mobile apps, lower display frame rates, a lower speaker playback volume as well as inaccurate battery percentages.
