VIDEO: TEST DRIVING THE HENDO HOVERBOARD 2.0

The hoverboard is simultaneously fascinating and exhilarating. Enabling technologies for its success have been in existence, but no one had yet been able to align them to give rise to a hoverboard. Hendo has done so, and their hoverboards are working in almost every way you can imagine.

The magic behind the hoverboard lies in its disc-shaped hover engines. These engines include an opposing magnetic field in the surface substrate that provides lift, levitating the board off the ground.

Hendo 2.0 use similar technology seen in those ultra fast maglev trains. The company calls the process "Magnetic Field Architecture". Using electromagnets, the board's engines generate magnetic fields that induce electrical currents in a conductive surface.
While the Hendo hoverboard is primarily intended to be human-driven, the technology that gives it stability can also be used to drive it via remote control by altering the projected force on the surface underneath it.

Have a look at the video below to see the Hendo 2.0 hoverboard in action.
