YOUTUBE'S CHIEF PRODUCT OFFICER EXPLAINS THE REASON BEHIND THE PURPOSE OF YOUTUBE SHORTS

Lew Later, a tech review YouTuber who owns two YouTube channels and a podcast, best known for his channel: Unbox Therapy and Later Clips, had a chance to have a discussion with YouTube's Chief Product Officer: Neal Mohan and asked him about the idea behind and purpose of YouTube Shorts.

According to Google, YouTube shorts has this description: "YouTube Shorts is a way for anyone to turn an idea into a chance to connect with new audiences anywhere in the world. All you need is a smartphone and the Shorts camera built right in the YouTube app. The latest Shorts creation tools make it fast, fun, and easy to be a creator on YouTube."

Although the tech world has put YouTube Shorts in the same box as TikTok and Instagram Reels, Neal Mohan explains that you can imagine Shorts as being a new platform for modern content creators to take advantage of.
