SONY PLAYSTATION 5 UPDATE SUPPORTS TV 3D SPATIAL AUDIO WITH NEW UPDATE

In the grand scheme of things, specifically in the world of cinematography, spatial audio is not necessarily new. However, when we translate this technology into the modern age it is few and far between in average digital devices and for good reason as the average TV watcher and gamer are more than happy with a decent enough quality audio system.

However, in order to appreciate spatial 3D audio, you will need specialised hardware as well as audio codecs and software that allow the user to reap the benefits of spatial audio offerings but with newer technology and advances in internet streaming bandwidth and speeds, there is no reason as to why average digital consumer products cant offer spatial audio features.

With that said, Sony has announced that the new PlayStation 5 software update will offer spatial 3D audio support for built-in TV speakers when either gaming from the PlayStation 5 or watching movies from the console.
