VIDEO: THE NUCLEUS 7 HEARING-AID IS CONTROLLED BY AN IPHONE

Apple has teamed up with Cochlear, an Australian-based company, to create the Nucleus 7 Sound Processor. This connected hearing aid is the first of its kind and it does not need an app to be downloaded to your smartphone to be controlled by an iPhone. Apple created a processor that makes accessing the control setting of the hearing aid (both implanted and outer ear devices) easier than ever before.

Apple then offered the technology to hearing aid developers, Cochlear, for free so that this intuitive process can become ubiquitous worldwide. Like a Bluetooth-connected device, the Nucleus 7 Sound Processor is connected via the user's iPhone settings. Once paired, the device can be controlled with the iPhone's volume controls.

The Nucleus 7 Sound Processor is 24% lighter, 25% smaller and has up to 50% more battery life than its predecessor. The user is also able to receive FaceTime calls and music directly to their hearing aid.

Have a look at the video to see how the Nucleus 7 Sound Processor works!
