There has always been a huge hype around the DPI rating of a Mouse sensor in the PC gaming world, but how much difference does a gaming mouse with a very high DPI actually make?
We have all been there and found ourselves in a position whereby we are in the market for a new gaming mouse. So you have a look in your local PC store or do some extensive research online for the best one that is in line with your budget and the same rating appears to pop up without fail and that of the DPI rating of the mouse and we are lead to assume that the higher the DPI (or dots per square inch) the better the mouse is. But that is not necessarily the case.
The higher the DPI of your mouse the more pixels of your screen is used to portray its movement, but in return, the less accurate it becomes. Some people absolutely swear by a mouse with a 16t00 DPI rating over one of 800, but in reality, it is nothing more than a marketing term.
